How to Clear Pores Effectively

clear poresOne of the most common of the factors that lead to the development of acne is clogged pores. The skin usually sheds dead skin cells regularly. It also produces a certain amount of oil called sebum to help keep our skin hydrated. These dead skin cells and sebum combine with bacteria to block the pores, which eventually leads to the formation of skin problems like whiteheads and blackheads.

A good way to prevent breaking out too much is to keep your face clean and this means regular, not frequent, washing of the face to help clear pores effectively. While some people might think that rigorous and frequent washing of the face can help clear pores, this is not true. In fact, excessive washing can lead to irritation and drying up of the skin.

Frequent washing also removes the normal amount of sebum which the skin produces. This makes the skin produce more sebum to replace that which is lost and more oil leads to more breakouts.

It is recommended that you wash your face regularly, instead of frequently, to help clear pores. Wash your face gently with warm soapy water. The warm water helps loosen up the pores and makes it easier to clean them all up. Gently scrub your face with soap and rinse with cold water. The cold water helps reduce swelling in the affected areas and helps close the pores to keep them from getting clogged up by bacteria, dead skin cells or sebum again.

Another great way to clear pores is to reduce the use of makeup or cosmetic products. These products usually contain substances which block the pores and make you more susceptible to breakouts or flare-ups. It is a good idea to avoid using harsh makeup that could worsen your clogged pores. Choose products that contain natural ingredients that don’t clog pores, or better yet don’t use any makeup and let your natural beauty shine.

To keep your pores clear it is also a good idea to drink plenty of water and try to keep your skin hydrated and moist so that your skin’s cells can function properly. You can use products that are non-comedogenic (non-comedogenic moisturizers) to keep your skin hydrated and healthy. You should know that it is necessary to moisturize your skin for high hydration because this helps in cleaning pores. Always use light moisturizers on your face immediately after cleansing. Another important thing to remember is that the cleansers with the fewest chemical additives are the best for your skin.

Finally, when you are cleansing your pores, use cotton balls, a skin conditioner or an alcohol-free toner. Scrub gently and with a circular motion so that you don’t damage the skin layers. When rinsing your skin, make sure that you rinse or remove all the debris residues and the cleanser so that you don’t imbed debris deeper into the pores as you put your moisturizers and serums on top.
