They can cause certain skin problems like pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. There are two main reasons pores to show up on your face and skin: age and genetics. While neither of these factors can be altered or reversed, there are some things you can do to minimize the appearance of skin pores. Here are some effective ways to shrink pores:

Natural Skin Regimen

1. After thoroughly washing your face with mild or organic soap, you can try steam on your face. Steaming your face will open up your pores and unclog them from dirt and oil. You can try and fill a basin with warm water and hold your face over the basin for about a minute or two. To maximize the steaming effect you can drape a towel around your head while you steam your face.

2. Soak your washcloth with lemon and pineapple juice then place the washcloth over your face for about a minute or two. Then rinse your face with warm water to shrink the appearance of pores on the skin. The citric component in lemon and pineapple will help tighten the skin around those pores while giving it a bright clean look. Lemon contains more natural enzymes that can help your skin shrink those pores.

4. Use a mild face wash or topical medication that contains either vitamin C or Retinol. These components can work wonders when it comes to reducing the size of your pores. These antioxidant-rich ingredients remove dirt and oil from your pores while helping your skin to produce more elastin and collagen.

5. To tighten skin around the pores, you can apply ice cubes or a cold compress. For immediate effects you can place some ice cubes in a washcloth and gently dampen your face with it for about 15 to 30 seconds.

6. Drink plenty of water and eat more citrus fruits. Proper hydration can help keep your skin moisturized while the natural enzymes in most citrus fruits can produce tighter skin and boost collagen production on the skin.

Use the Right Kind of Skin Care Products

A daily skin care regimen of cleansing, exfoliating, toning and moisturizing can significantly help shrink the size of your pores. Remember to use skin care products best suited for the type of skin you have. If you want products based on milder formulas you can choose to use organic or natural skin care products. If irritations do occur you can try switching to milder products. Occasional-use medications and treatments can also significantly help your skin. One of the best remedies would be using sulfur masks, which can be purchased at any local drug store. Sulfur masks can help unclog pores and clear your skin of blemishes while giving your skin a healthy glow. Spending a little time and effort with the help of the right skin care products can help you minimize the size of your pores while giving it a more healthy and young-looking glow.
